Collages

Did you know that the word 'collage' comes from the French word 'coller' which means to glue? Children from Witton Church Walk School in Northwich had fun gluing grasses, paper, fabric, feathers, twigs, leaves, wool and sequins to make pictures. They collected some of their natural materials and got their ideas from their visit to Northwich Community Woodlands. A gallery of their work is below, click on a picture to get a closer look.

Could you make a collage?

During the winter you can collect natural materials such as twigs, fallen leaves, feathers, seed pods and cones from Northwich Community Woodlands to create your picture, but please do not pick the wildflowers or leaves from living plants in the spring and summer.

Bring your Collage to the Rangers at Marbury Park and we'll add the best ones to the gallery .
